Private Practice Counselling
Your Space. Your Time. Your Journey.
At Smiler's Counselling Lincolnshire, I offer a safe, welcoming and confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear of judgement.
I understand that taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, especially if you've never experienced therapy before.
My aim is to help you feel comfortable, listened to and supported from the moment you get in touch.
What Can Counselling Help With?
Life brings many different challenges, and sometimes having someone outside of your family or friendship circle to talk to can make a real difference.
I can offer support with:
Anxiety, stress and feeling overwhelmed
Depression and low mood
Bereavement, grief and loss, including pet bereavement
Low self-esteem and confidence
Relationship and family difficulties
Trauma and difficult life experiences
LGBTQ+ identity and sexuality
Work-related stress
Life changes and personal challenges
You don't need to have a diagnosis or know exactly what's wrong to benefit from counselling. Sometimes, simply having a space to talk can be the first step towards understanding yourself better.
My Approach to Counselling
My counselling approach is primarily person-centred, meaning you are at the heart of our work together.
I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is not to tell you what to do, but to listen, understand and support you as you explore your feelings and experiences.
Where appropriate, I may also draw upon other approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment theory and bereavement work, depending on your individual needs.
Sessions are tailored to you, and we work at a pace that feels comfortable.
What Happens During a Session?
Counselling provides you with dedicated time to talk about whatever is important to you.
There is no pressure to share anything before you're ready, and there are no right or wrong things to say.
During our sessions, you can expect:
A warm, friendly and non-judgemental environment
Space to explore your thoughts and feelings
Respect for your individual experiences and choices
Confidentiality, with safeguarding and legal exceptions explained clearly
Support to develop greater self-awareness and understanding
Whether you attend for a few sessions or longer-term support, we can regularly review how things are going.
Where Are Sessions Held?
Face-to-face counselling sessions take place in Stickney, Lincolnshire, in a private and welcoming environment.
I aim to create a comfortable space where you can feel relaxed and able to speak openly.
Session Fees
Individual counselling — £40 per session
Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes.
Free 15-minute introductory chat
Before booking your first session, I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute chat.
This gives us the opportunity to discuss what you're looking for, answer any questions and see whether counselling with me feels like the right fit.
Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer.
Confidentiality and Professional Standards
Your privacy and wellbeing are extremely important to me.
I work within professional ethical guidelines, maintain appropriate insurance and undertake regular clinical supervision to support safe and ethical practice.
What you share in counselling is treated confidentially, subject to safeguarding and other legal or ethical obligations, which will be explained before we begin working together.
